Information for Performers

• Each night has six 30 minute performance slots. We’re here to provide you the opportunity to perform and we appreciate and respect the effort you’ve made to do so.

• Apart from Market City Tavern, we run ‘acoustic open mic’ nights. No amps or drums. Hand percussion is fine though.

• At Market City Tavern we welcome drums and amps. If you’re a band, please book two back to back spots to give you an hour to set up and do a set.

• Perth Open Mic provides a ‘vocal PA’ at every gig. This includes: FOH, 2 mics, 2 gtr leads, lights. BYO guitar, music stand. Most people simply bring their guitar.

• If you don’t have 30 minutes of music, we’d like to encourage to do what you can. Someone else can use some of your time. Obviously the number of songs varies for each performer.

• Perth Open Mic audiences want to hear you perform quality live music, regardless of who wrote the songs. So covers and originals are equally as welcome.

• A live instrument must be played. It allows a distinction between us and karaoke. Hip hop is an exception which can be performed with backing tracks. We provide a 3.5mm aux lead.

• One free drink ticket each performer unless you’re a band in which case you might need to ration those.

• Bookings aren’t essential, but why take the risk when it’s so easy to reserve a slot.

• Please note that Unison Singing will not be tolerated. That’s not a harmony.

• Please also note Unaccompanied Guitar Solos had better be good. Otherwise please don’t.
